About Us

Owners Don and Barb found a need for a horse boarding facility focusing on the horse; a facility which treated horses in a humane and loving manner and where the boarders to experience the tranquility of a country setting. Together, in 1979, they started DonBar Farm located just north of Chicago along the Wisconsin border.

Today, DonBar is one of the most pristine and caring horse boarding facilities offering heated, non-heated and pasture board, indoor and outdoor riding arenas, locally grown hay and top quality grain, individual feeding programs, lessons, training, and much more. We take pride in the care our horses and work hard to make the farm a place where boarders can feel welcome and at home.
